The collaborative efforts of Ermelo, Harderwijk, Putten, and Zeewolde municipalities, along with Gelderland and Flevoland provinces and Vallei, Veluwe, and Zuiderzeeland waterschaps, have resulted in the establishment of a powerful alliance since the year 2023. Operating under the unified identity EHPZ, the region now emerges as an attractive area that seamlessly integrates residential, recreational, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Pooling their administrative strengths has significantly enhanced the collective effectiveness, enabling eight governing bodies to tackle cross-border challenges such as housing development, facilitating business spaces, promoting recreation, and fostering sustainability. Collaboratively, efforts are directed towards optimizing the limited regional space to ensure a well-balanced landscape. A defined regional profile has been meticulously crafted to leverage our joint capabilities in advocacy initiatives, notably towards the national and European levels.
